The Sales Rep role 

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient sales person to join our team in South Africa, Johannesburg and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of security cameras, cloud storage, solar generators or is willing to learn where there knowledge gap.

This role will be pivotal in driving the sales efforts for our innovative products. 

 Duties & Responsibilities  

  •  Market and sell our products to a new customer base / potential customers, & find new business 
  •  Develop, maintain and improve customer relationships 
  •  Actively research, identify and contact new sales prospects 
  •  Must be able to communicate with all levels of management Presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills essential 
  •  Develop and maintain a regular calling schedule 
  •  Take of buying orders 
  •  Check stock levels at buyers and retailers 
  •  Research new products, special developments and other sales opportunities
    and communicate the feedback / information 
  •  Seek out new opportunities, analyse the market and provide feedback 
  •  Develop and maintain sales materials and product knowledge 
  •  Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all our products and have some technical knowledge in the solar and security industry therefore developing sound product knowledge and competent demonstration skills  
  •  Conduct regular training presentations for customers Attend and network at Demo events in order to drive sales 
  •  Handle customer queries and complaints, must have excellent customer service skills 
  •  Assist with marketing 
  •  Prepare and submit a variety of reports 
  •  General administration relating to the position 
  •  Excellent customer relationship skills 
  •  Self-motivated, dedicated, target driven 
  •  Money hungry and seasoned within the industry 
  •  Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) as well as active listening skills 
  •  Strong reporting skills 
  •  Organised approach to working, must have good organisational skills, thorough with paperwork and keep required logs 
  •  Excellent time management Be able to work independently whilst maintaining team view and attitude 
  •  Compile marketing strategy and implement plans to support the strategy 
  •  Draw up and execute an aggressive sales plan that delivers growth on a year-to-year basis 
  •  Ability to analyse, interpret and manage sales data 
  •  Meet and exceed agreed monthly and quarterly sales forecast 
  •  Comply with current routine administrative procedures promptly and accurately Strong attention to detail 
  •  Review price surveys to ensure on par with competitors 
  •  Must be willing to travel and grow your area – not negotiable 
  •  Ability to work under pressure Flexible working hours, able to start early, work evenings and weekends 
  • 80% remote
  •  Work with professionalism, focus, responsibility and passion

  • Mature, responsible, trustworthy 
  • Must have on the road external sales experience – Hunter – and must be excited about earning commission 
  • Degree level education or technical or tertiary qualifications in marketing, sales or similar is essential
  • Previous working experience in sales within retail markets is essential 
  • Recent contactable references 
  • Reliable car and own reliable cellphone
  • A computer with internet 
  • Experience in solar and security market, or related industries is an added advantage
